Project Summary
Riverbank Coffee is a delightful cafe on the banks of the River Mersey between Urmston and Sale in Greater Manchester. Located directly on the Trans Pennine trail, it is a great favourite of cyclists, walkers, and families looking for an escape from the house and some fresh air. We have personally visited Riverbank Coffee since just after the full Covid lockdown, where the idea of a walk, with a treat at the end, was just too inviting. The attraction has not waned now that we have all returned to a more normal existence and Riverbank Coffee has gone from strength to strength
When the cafe first opened it was a small coffee pod, just off the main path. Over the last two years, the popularity of the cafe has grown and so too has Riverbank Coffee. From a little coffee pod it has grown into two containers providing locally ground coffee, hot chocolate, milkshakes, cakes, pies, hotdogs, and their legendary homemade sausage rolls.
As the business evolved, the owners realised that the website no longer reflected the business they had become. I was contacted to bring the website up-to-date and truly represent what Riverbank Coffee is all about.
This cafe cannot be reached without a walk through woodland and along the riverside and that is exactly its charm! In all seasons, we have wandered down to the cafe from the car park at St Clement’s church in Urmston. In every weather, it is beautiful and so good for the soul. Families appreciate the location and freedom for their children to run, climb trees, and cycle. Dog walkers appreciate the environment, and relaxed atmosphere, and everyone is grateful for the delicious treats at the final destination. I am certain that other people who work from home share my love of a reason to escape from the house for a while and get some exercise. In fact, I have often found that I have come up with some great ideas on my walks.
Images and media content can make such an enormous difference to a website. On this occasion, I was truly fortunate. Dane had chosen Emma Boyle to take professional photographs of the location and food and drink. Every image was beautiful and of such great quality that it made my job so much easier. Phil Amuzu of Base Aura Films produced a fantastic film that truly shares the stunning location of the cafe.
The project was a dream from start to finish, thanks to brilliant, clear communication and feedback.
Dane was happy with the result:
“Just want to start by saying a massive thank you for the work you’ve done the website. We all love it! It’s exactly what we want.”

If you’re in the area of Sale or Urmston, do make sure you give Riverbank Coffee a visit. You’re sure of a warm welcome, and a great coffee and I am certain you won’t resist the cakes or sausage rolls!
